On November 8, we will have a free entrance day at Dinosaur Valley State Park in celebration of Dino-bility Day. This is an event in celebration of accessibility, community, and outdoor recreation for people of all abilities. We will have fishing, adaptive hiking equipment, crafts, dinosaur activities, and sensory friendly hikes and programs. Community resources will also be in attendance informing about the great work they do with the community.

I am trying to spread the word about this event to as many people as I can. I would love your help in spreading information to your network, and any others in the DFW area you think might be interested. Attached are a few flyers about the event. Below is more information regarding Dino-bility Day and an ASL interpreted video link about the event.

You’re invited to join us at Dinosaur Valley State Park for Dino-bility Day – a celebration of accessibility, community, and outdoor recreation for people of all abilities!

Location: Blue Hole, Dinosaur Valley State Park – 1629 Park Rd 59 Glen Rose, TX 76043

Admission: Entry fees are waived for all park visitors on this day

About the Event:

Dino-bility Day connects individuals of all abilities with nature through hands-on, adaptive activities and partnerships with local and statewide organizations. The event showcases how everyone can experience and enjoy Texas State Parks.

Visitors can expect a wide variety of interactive and family-friendly experiences, including:

  • Fishing Pond – Try your hand at fishing for channel catfish.Made possible by the Texas Game Wardens Association, TPWD Inland Fisheries, Possum Kingdom Dam Hatchery, and Texas State Park Police Association.
  • Bird BINGO Sensory Hike – Spot and listen for birds around the Monarch Trail and fill your BINGO card!
  • Adaptive Equipment Trials – Try out all-terrain motorized trackchairs, GRIT Freedom Chairs, and a Huckleberry Hiking Tandem Cart.
  • Dino Discovery Zone – Discover Dino Valley’s past by learning about ancient Texas giants, unearthing fossils, and creating your own fossil.
  • Build-a-S’more Craft – Craft a “s’more” using repurposed materials – no campfire needed!
  • Signs of the Wild – Explore animal clues and learn about Texas wildlife in these hands-on activities.

Local and State organizations will be at this event, providing information on the services they provide to the community.
