SILENT NETWORK CO-FOUNDER KATHLEEN GOLD PASSES AT 88

Silent Network was founded in 1979 by Sheldon I. Altfeld and Kathleen Gold. Kathleen was the loving mother of award-winning actress Dr. Julianne Gold-Brunson, who has performed on Broadway and national television. Kathleen had a big heart for the Deaf Community and worked hard for years to help make accessible television possible for Deaf and Hard of Hearing viewers. She will be greatly missed.

Thank you, Kathleen.

(She can be seen in recent years speaking about the network’s history in the special tribute program on Sheldon I. Altfeld in “Deaf Perspective” episode 69 on Access Network.)
