One of the most exciting events The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center provides
is our Deaf Awareness Week (DAW)! This is an annual week long celebration
of the many challenges the deaf and hard of hearing community have
learned to overcome. We will kick off the week with a picnic, magic show
and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy! This will be held at
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center on September 19th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00
p.m. Activities scheduled for the rest of the week will include a parent
panel discussion, bowling, movie night, storytelling, an ASL contest and
an open house including a proclamation by City counsel woman, Chris Adler
and a presentation by Anna Jimenez, Nueces County District Attorney.
