Deaf Awareness Month announcement

HHSC Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services in Austin is hosting an in-person event — from 10 AM to 12 PM on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Brown-Heatly Building Hearing Rooms (#1410) on the first floor — to commemorate milestones and accomplishments within the Deaf community. RSVP here.

Participation is encouraged to raise awareness, learn about Deaf culture, connect with each other, and join in celebration. The activities promote involvement and support and help make a positive impact within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

“Deaf Awareness Month is a time to amplify the voices of the Deaf community, break down barriers, and build a more inclusive society where everyone’s abilities are valued and their dreams are supported,” said DHHS Director Bryant Robinson.
